Nicotine e-cigarettes: Evidence on health outcomes and smoking cessation in preparation for legislative changes coming in October
NOTE: Title changed to capture webinar content now focused on evidence for prescribing in light of legislation changes.

From 1 October 2021 it will be illegal to buy nicotine e-cigarettes or nicotine vaping products without first talking with a GP and getting a prescription. To learn more about the changes in nicotine e-cigarette laws and how that may impact practice, NACCHO (the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation) and RACGP (the Royal Australian College of General Practice) are hosting a complementary webinar for GPs, non-GP clinicians, ACCHO and practice staff.

Presented by Professor Emily Banks, National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, Australian National University and Ms Alice Nugent, ACCHO pharmacist and member of the NACCHO Medicines Advisory Team, the webinar will look at:

• safety and toxicity risks
• prescription of an unregistered product
• harm minimisation including a case study, and
• discussion points to support ACCHOs and health services to develop community-based vaping policies
